Mike Wheeler, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, earned his Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Purdue Global University and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Mike spent more than 15 years as a nurse in emergency medicine, intensive care, telemetry, medical-surgical nursing, perioperative services, and wound care, caring for patients with diverse and complex medical needs. He also served as a Nurse Educator, where he enjoyed mentoring future nurses through classroom, clinical, and simulation-based instruction. Mike was drawn to Bloom’s home-based primary care model because it allows him to build meaningful relationships with patients while caring for them in the environment where they are most comfortable. He believes home visits provide a deeper understanding of each patient’s daily life, allowing him to tailor care plans that support their goals, independence, and overall well-being. He is especially passionate about helping older adults maintain their independence and quality of life by bringing personalized, evidence-based care directly into their homes. Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, exploring Colorado through hiking and camping, and photographing Colorado’s landscapes and birds.
