Jim Sturgeon serves as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Bloom Healthcare, where he leads a team dedicated to creating an exceptional employee experience and helping Bloom remain one of the Top Places to Work in Healthcare.
Jim has over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, with a focus on multi-site and multi-state HR operations across primary care and the post-acute space. Over the past decade, much of his work has centered on M&A activity, including De Novo development, acquisitions, and supporting growth-oriented organizations.
Before joining Bloom, Jim spent two years as Vice President of Human Resources for CORA Health Services, an outpatient physical therapy provider. His career also included HR leadership roles with Bristol Hospice, Amedisys, Intermountain Health, and Kindred Healthcare. Jim holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Louisville.
Outside of Bloom, Jim serves as an adjudicator in the pageantry arts world, judging competitive marching band, drum corps, winter color guard, and indoor percussion events across the country and abroad. In his personal time, he enjoys travel, theater events, dining out, Pilates, and spending time with his husband, David.
