Dr. Compton earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from University of Missouri – Columbia. He went on to complete his residency training in Family Medicine at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, where he developed a strong foundation in comprehensive, patient-centered care. He maintains board certification in Family Medicine and actively pursues continuing medical education to remain current with evolving best practices in medicine. In addition to his family medicine practice, he was medical director of hospice organization in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Dr. Compton is passionate about practicing home-based primary care because it allows him to care for patients in the environment where they are most comfortable. He is drawn to Bloom’s model of care for its focus on relationship-centered medicine, accessibility, and proactive support that helps patients maintain dignity and independence. Caring for patients in their homes provides deeper insight into their daily lives and allows him to deliver more personalized and meaningful care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Compton values time with his family and recently relocated to Colorado as his son began college at CU Boulder. His daughter is a dentist in Austin, Texas. He and his wife enjoy traveling, hiking, snowboarding, participating in mission work and staying active in his community. He is committed to both lifelong learning and service, bringing compassion and dedication to every aspect of his work.
